Hello! My name is Ash Alves.

I am a writer, author, and integrative healing advocate who holds a Bsc (Hons) in International Politics Graduate and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Level 3. My work includes facilitating workshops that hold space for people to do the inner work to gain inner healing and peace. I care deeply about how social injustice affects people’s ability to self-actualise and offer an integrative approach to healing. I currently reside in the West Midlands.

Welcome to my blog.

My blogging journey began in early 2017 out of desperation for an outlet to process all the chaos that imprisoned my mind. I was a recent politics graduate, struggling to find a job and, had no idea what direction I wanted to take with my life. To make matters worse, my family environment was in complete disarray. I was unhappy with all aspects of my life and found myself crippled by negative thoughts and low self-esteem.

I began writing as an outlet and discovered that I have the power to heal myself and transform my life. My internal battles inspired me to create a my blog. I wanted to share my experiences and reach out to others who were also on a journey towards self discovery. I felt alone through most of my struggles and I want others to know that they’re not alone. My struggles inspired my mission to normalise conversations about our vulnerabilities and encourage others to look within and examine themselves. I aim to equipped others with the tools and resources to take ownership over their healing journey whilst advocating for honest conversations about how systems of oppression make people unwell. I hope that my work inspires someone else to keep going, no matter how hard life gets.

Writing has saved my life and I hope to connect with others to instil a little hope in their lives. Join me on my journey as I attempt to untangle my thoughts through writing.

-Love Ash, x

  1. That’s an exceptionally well-written profile. It’s focused, moving, and memorable. It makes “Ash” a person, rather than just another name on the net. Exactly what you want a profile to be, but somewhat unusual. My guess is you have quite some experience with writing.

    1. Thank you very much Paul! It means a lot that you acknowledged this. It took me a while to figure out how to write about myself. Then I finally realised that I was trying too hard and just needed to be myself. This comment made my day honestly ❤
